What’s our photography style?

This sweet photo was an “in between” photo during this couples engagement shoot. And we are so glad we didn’t stop taking photos and were able to catch this big laugh and overall image of joy!

We photograph a variety of things. Our main focus areas are weddings and family photography, real estate photography, and sports photography. These can appear to not have many things in common and in many ways they do not but one thing we love to document with all of these is the joy, the feel, and the enjoyment of an event or a house!

If we had to classify our photography style it would be “candid”. We will take those posed photos and they will be good but we really love to document that loving embrace that you have no clue we even photographed until we deliver the photos. We love the candid style for many reasons but mainly because you can authentically capture so many emotions from an event. For a wedding there are a million emotional moments to capture. Those photos that make your heart melt or your eyes water, that is what I want to capture!

We photograph a lot of sports as well. There is a lot of magic and emotions in a sporting event. A coach and player embracing after a job well done, or a tearful hug from a dad when their child didn’t win. These are those extra shots from a sporting event that we like to capture and deliver that our clients may not expect. These photos also help to show the type of atmosphere of a client's event, people laughing, having fun, and enjoying being part of the event.

Obviously it is hard to get a candid photo of a house when doing real estate photography but we do still try to evoke feelings in our photos as much as possible. We try to photograph the house in a way that when you are flipping through those listings you actually can see the whole room so you can imagine yourself sitting on the couch or cooking in the kitchen and not have to wonder what is around the corner.

With every one of our photos we just want those looking at the pictures to be able to feel like they are there laughing, smiling, crying, or just enjoying whatever is in the picture as well!

We hope you love our candid photos. Let us know what other styles of photography you love!

*Maybe one day we can get Alan to blog about his obsession with landscape photography and an awesome long exposure so that you all can see more of his amazing work!
